A wonderful four days-Breakfast with the elk-What could be better than that? Went on three tours of the surrounding area with Grant from Redwood Adventures- He is very knowledgeable and added so much to my appreciation of this amazing part of California. The cabin is very comfortable and well appointed-everything you need. I look forward to another visit

Best place our group has ever stayed! We celebrated the birthdays, the bachelor, the bachelorette, the elk, the trees, the ferns, the hot tub and the campfire. It was warm, comfortable and conducive to laughs and good food and great fun. Thank you for providing such a great place! We’ll be back!

This is a wonderful place to stay and area to visit. The people are just like down home Alabama, warm, friendly and real! The elk were truly cool and this cabin is very warm and comfortable, just like home. Nicer than we expected!

Great accommodations! Elk everywhere, except in our backyard. Lots to see and do - Hiking Fern Canyon, horseback ride with Redwood Adventures and fine dining in Orick. Thanks to Donna in the office for all of her assistance and knowledge!

WOW! This place is amazing. What a beautiful setting. From banana slugs, valley quail, crows to the massive Roosevelt Elk. Our 5yr old son was so excited about the Elk. He said “ Ah Mom, this is the life, let’s never leave.” That truly sums up our feeling for this place. A little piece of heaven, not far from home. Wow, what a morning, great place, Redwood Adventures.

You have done a fabulous job on the remodeling - the house is beautiful - We didn’t want to leave! The highlight of our stay was the tour Grant, from Redwood Adventures, took us on. Thank you Grant! I would highly recommend anyone staying here to sign up for one of the Redwood Adventures tours-it is well worth the money. We loved watching the Elk. I can’t wait to come back again. Nowhere on earth is there such peace as standing amongst the Redwoods!

We woke up to 6 bulls and 17 cows and a gaggle of baby Elk today! Yesterday we went on an epic mountain bike ride through the Redwoods and coast line, 27 miles! We left right from our cabin, you can’t beat that! This place is awesome!!! We hope to come back again and again.

We came down from Seattle, heading to Eureka and stopped in to check availability. Very happy we did! Nice “cabin” and plenty of room for the six of us. Enjoyed our stay and sad a second night wasn’t available!

Our three nights and days here have been thoroughly enjoyable- a very fortunate, last-minute find for us! The accommodations are very comfortable, well-appointed and the location is lovely.
Highlights:
- Lady Bird Johnson Grove-easy but spectacular walk when hiking with a 6 and a 2 yr old.
- BBQ and the Redwood Ramblers on site Thursday nights!
- Fern Canyon-great! Again, easy with small kids and just lovely.
- Playing on the beach at Gold Bluffs. Seals and pelicans…
- Father and son kayaking on Big Lagoon with Redwood Adventures
- Very nice hot tub!
- Eating breakfast with the Elk, right outside our window!!

We had such a wonderful time!! I would say everything was better than we expected. Hopefully you weren't too affected by the fires up your way. It seems like most are coming under control. We are headed to Yellowstone next week with my brother and his son. Hopefully, we'll see some great wildlife and geysers! We look forward to seeing you next year.

ELK EVERYWHERE!! Who would have thought a herd of elk (20-30) would be gazing at me through our front yard. As soon as the herd ran off to bed in the trees, the grass became ours. The fire pit to be more exact. Roasting marshmallows and making s’mores on the fire, after relaxing in the “HOT” tub and eating a grand supper, is the best part of the day. Another day in our luxury cabin. Giant Trees are all around. Their trunks (on average) 10-18 feet in diameter. THEY’RE HUGE!!!

Great stories…Mark and I had a wonderful Thanksgiving feast with the company of friends. The Elk Friends never made it near, but we invited ourselves over to their place down the road and said hi-MAGNIFICENT WILDLIFE!! Enjoyed a run along the beach with the sunrise. Could not think of a better place to start giving thanks for the wonderful lives Mark and I live. So lucky to be here in this moment. Peaceful. It was a good stay in this little house on Elk Prairie. So close-you might forget they are wild animals.
Sunday we went to Lady Bird Johnson Grove to watch the tall trees. In the afternoon we spent a lazy time at the Gold Bluffs Beach watching the waves. Coming nearer beautiful birds…just relaxing after the trip we had made starting July 10th in Seattle. We will remember this stay in Orick and tell our friends about this spot when we are back in Holland.

Today we went to Fern Canyon due west of us here. Pretty how nature has corrected the mistakes of man. Drove south down the coast, combed the beach at Agate Beach, spent some time in Trinidad- cool place with a neat coastline. It’s been a fun time in Northern Cal-Thanks Redwood Adventures for making our stay pleasant!
