The Elk Rut
Every fall, the amazing elk that share the redwoods with us go through mating season – a period of time known as the rut. During the elk rut, mature male elk compete for the females’ attention by antler wrestling one another and creating loud, bellowing vocalizations — known as “bugling.” To see a slideshow of the elk rut, click button below.
